The first step

Hello there,

As you read this, Your eyes might be watery because of formalin fumes or tired as hell after giving that zillionth read to Mushtaq and discovering something new every time or Guyton might be giving you a tough time. Your mind might be in constant confusion BD or KLM, Snell's or Last's, Lippincott or Chatterjea, Guyton or Firdaus.

Yes we know.. we know.

We have also been baffled by all the new terminologies in first year

But this does not stop at the first years oh no,

You get to cry through second year because of back to back tests and Anatomy that just doesn't end!

And then..

Pharma hits!

It's super volatile, and we all know how extensive/creepy forensics is, and pathology which is considered relatively easier, gets pretty annoying too. Behavioral sciences, as simple as it may be, it is a true representation of human behavior, ever so confusing about what to leave and what not to leave.

Move on to fourth year, the biggest two questions, is pathoma sufficient and is excel enough or should I be doing the scary Park. The clinical methods of ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology (fancy word for ENT), we shall be covering those as well.

The final stretch, the last year, you've made it this far, but still the confusion lurks. Davidson mai se kia karna hai aur Dogar pass karwa degi? Paeds and the book we all love to hate, pervez akbar. Gynecology and Obstetrics just like behavioral sciences, a bit temperamental but aren't we all 😛

The questions you might have about what to do once you're done with CMH, what should you be doing right now to achieve that goal? Research? Elective? Steps? PLAB? AMC?

For all these questions that you might find yourself struggling with, we hope to guide you with this blog. The super talented Constellasians who’ve all been there are here to guide you through this process.

"Aap nay ghabrana nai hay"

From a Constellasian to a future Constellasian, let's make the academic world at CMH more interactive and easier!

PS stay tuned, we've got a lot in store for you

Take this moment to be proud of yourself for having reached this milestone. Now, I know a lot of you have countless number of questions regarding the right approach towards Step 2CK. I understand it can be a bit confusing at the start. Let’s face it, CK resources are not as clearly defined as Step 1 resources are. Having been through this, I wanted to take this  opportunity  to help you out in the prep journey for an exam that is probably now the most important component of the USMLE series. I have divided this article into three sections based on your stage of prep. Like before, I won't be talking much about my own experience since I firmly believe that everyone has their own way of going about this exam. Have fun!   PART ONE – For those just getting started: 1.  So, it hasn’t been that long since you...

Izhan Hamza Step 2 CK 268

Usmle step 2 experience 268 Stats: UW first pass %: 92 UW second pass % : 99 ( only got done with 10 percent) UWSA1: 271 (3 weeks before) UWSA 2: 281 (1 week before) New free 120 %: 89 (1 week before) Real deal 268: ( definitely didn’t go as well as my assessments) Thoughts about the exam: Difficulty: I personally thought the exam was the harder compared to the UWSAs, or maybe my form had a lot of question I found hard on it. I felt that I had underperformed in my exam, a lot of questions made me second guess myself and made me confused while picking between two options. The content however did not seem too alien; all the questions had some level of familiarity no weird diseases etc, it is with option choices where they get you. I had a couple of question on picking antibiotic regimens for diseases and they were no way as simple as the UWORLD ones. Patient safety/ ethics was not that big of an issue but then again you do not know until you get it wrong. Images were a nightmare, I ...
